January 5. The day before Epiphany. The last day of Christmastide, except one. Tomorrow, the wise men arrive. The nations see the light. The revelation breaks through.
But today is a day of preparation. Not the frantic preparation of Advent, but a quiet anticipation. The gifts are bought. The journey is almost over. The star is almost at its destination. And you are invited to wait, to anticipate, to prepare your heart.
Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.
Isaiah 2:5Isaiah invited Israel to walk in the light. And Epiphany is the day when that invitation becomes clear: the light has come. The revelation has arrived. And you are invited to walk in it.
So take today to prepare. Not with shopping or planning, but with heart preparation. Ask: what do I need to see? What revelation am I waiting for? What has been hidden that needs to be revealed?
What Are You Waiting For?
Epiphany is tomorrow. What revelation are you waiting for? What truth has been hidden that you need to see? Take today to ask God to prepare your heart for what is about to be revealed.
Father, tomorrow is Epiphany. The day when the nations see the light. The day when the revelation comes. Prepare my heart. Open my eyes. Let me see what you want to show me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
With honesty and hope,
Claire
