You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.
Song of Solomon 4:7He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:24There are days when you feel beautiful. There are days when you feel chosen, when you feel beloved, when you feel like the Bride of Christ. And then there are days when you don't. Days when you feel broken, when you feel ashamed, when you feel unworthy. Days when the gap between who Scripture says you are and who you feel like you are feels impossibly wide.
On those days, you need to remember something crucial: your beauty as the Bride of Christ is not based on you. It's based on Him. Your worth is not based on your performance. It's based on His love. Your value is not based on what you do. It's based on what He has done.
The world tells you that beauty is something you achieve. It's in your appearance, your success, your productivity, your perfection. But God tells you that beauty is something you receive. It's in His delight, His choice, His love, His grace.
When you don't feel beautiful, remember this: the One who calls you beautiful doesn't make mistakes. The One who calls you beloved doesn't change His mind. The One who calls you His Bride doesn't regret His choice.
Your feelings don't change the reality of who you are to Him. Your failures don't change the fact that He chose you. Your shame doesn't change the fact that He delights in you. Your brokenness doesn't change the fact that He calls you beautiful.
Rest in His Delight
Today, whenever you feel unlovely, unworthy, or unattractive, pause and remind yourself: "My beauty is not based on me. It's based on His delight. He calls me beautiful even when I don't feel it." Don't try to earn His love. Simply receive it. Rest in it.
Jesus, my Bridegroom, thank You for calling me beautiful even when I don't feel it. Thank You for delighting in me even when I don't delight in myself. Thank You for loving me even when I don't love myself. I confess that I have sometimes let my feelings determine my identity instead of Your truth. Forgive me for believing lies about my worth. Today I choose to rest in Your delight. I choose to receive Your love. I choose to believe what You say about me, even when my feelings disagree. Let me find my beauty not in what I do, but in who loves me. In Your beautiful name, Amen.
Your beauty is not in your perfection. It's in His delight. And He delights in you completely.
With honesty and hope, Claire
