Day Four · Beloved: The Bride of Christ

The Authority You've Already Been Given

Most believers live far below their inheritance. Not because God has withheld anything from them, but because they do not know what they carry. The Bride of Christ carries the authority of her Bridegroom. Today we look at the authority that already belongs to you.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.

Matthew 28:18-19

When a bride marries a king, she doesn't just gain a husband. She gains a kingdom. She doesn't just gain a name. She gains authority. She doesn't just gain a home. She gains a position. Everything that belongs to her husband now belongs to her. His authority becomes her authority. His power becomes her power. His kingdom becomes her kingdom.

This is exactly what happens when you become the Bride of Christ. You don't just gain a Savior. You gain His authority. You don't just gain forgiveness. You gain His power. You don't just gain eternal life. You gain His kingdom. Everything that belongs to Jesus now belongs to you.

But most believers live like spiritual paupers when they have been given the keys to the kingdom. They pray like beggars when they have been given authority. They live like victims when they have been given power. They speak like orphans when they have been given a voice.

Jesus gave His disciples authority over all the power of the enemy. He didn't give them authority over some of the enemy's power. He gave them authority over all of it. He didn't give them authority that would work sometimes. He gave them authority that would work always. He didn't give them authority that would expire. He gave them authority that would last forever.

And this authority wasn't just for the twelve disciples. It wasn't just for the early church. It wasn't just for pastors and missionaries. It's for every believer. Every Bride of Christ carries the authority of her Bridegroom.

"I have been given authority by Jesus Christ. His authority is my authority. His power is my power. His kingdom is my kingdom. I do not pray like a beggar. I do not live like a victim. I do not speak like an orphan. I am the Bride of the King, and I carry His authority."

Exercise Your Authority

Today, identify one area where you have been living like a victim instead of exercising your authority. Maybe it's fear, anxiety, or a specific temptation. Instead of praying like a beggar, pray like someone who has authority. Speak to the situation with the authority Jesus gave you. Say: "In the name of Jesus, I have authority over this. It has no power over me." Notice how this changes your perspective and actions.

  • Where have you been living like a spiritual pauper when you have been given the keys to the kingdom?
  • What would change in your daily life if you truly understood that you carry the authority of Jesus?
  • What fears, anxieties, or temptations have you been praying about like a beggar instead of exercising authority?
  • How does knowing you are the Bride of the King change your understanding of spiritual authority?
  • What is the difference between praying for help and exercising authority?
  • How does knowing you have authority over all the power of the enemy change the way you face spiritual battles?
  • Can you exercise authority without becoming arrogant or prideful?

Jesus, thank You for giving me Your authority. Thank You for not leaving me powerless, but for empowering me with Your authority. I confess that I have sometimes lived like a victim when You made me a victor, like a beggar when You made me an heir, like an orphan when You made me Your Bride. Forgive me for living far below my inheritance. Today I choose to walk in the authority You have given me. Help me to exercise this authority with wisdom and humility. Let me bring Your kingdom to earth as it is in heaven. In Your powerful name, Amen.

You are not powerless. You are not a victim. You are not a beggar. You are the Bride of the King, and you carry His authority.

With honesty and hope, Claire
